Advance Storage Performance Needs from Panasas
SUNNYVALE, CA: Panasas announces partnership with Integrated Rule-Oriented Data System (iRODS) Consortium to advance the storage performance needs of life science markets by accelerating workflows and simplifying data management.
Panasas, a provider of Network Attached Storage (NAS) for unstructured data, leverages its ActiveStor- a scale-out NAS solution for enabling direct parallel access to a high-performance pool of storage under a single global namespace. Based on the Panasas PanFS storage operating system, and DirectFlow, ActiveStor greatly reduces time-to-results for technical and enterprise workflows, while delivering easy management and robust reliability in research applications.
With unsurpassed data security, Panasas drives research innovations worldwide in the energy, government, life sciences, manufacturing, and media & entertainment markets. “We are looking forward to working with iRODS and its Technology Working Group members to drive storage technology development that accelerates the discovery and collaboration of medical solutions by research institutions worldwide,” says Jim Donovan, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Panasas.
The partnership contributes a mixed workload performance for the iRODS ecosystem and powers them to access even small files without interrupting large data flows. With the combination of high capacity hard drives and flash drives, Panasas plays an exciting role in the evolution of iRODS data management, regardless of where or on what device the data is stored.
